Interior Design Going AI

Written by:

Interior Design is the science and art that practices the decoration of the inside of the house with the desire to create a beautiful and pleasant house, offices, conference rooms, media studios or any building.

Belief History of Interior Design

The culture spread throughout Europe and during the rise of early Christianity.

Interior designs date back to ancients Egyptians who used animal skins, painted vases, murals, and sculptures. Archeologists excavated gold ornaments in Egyptian tombs which revealed a strong economy, lavish decoration for powerful and wealthier Egyptians. The greeks and Romans learned the culture of decoration from Egyptians and applied it during early civilization. The Romans considered comfort, beauty, and home interiors as wealth and status. They used furniture made of wood, stone bronze, high-quality tapestries, and cushions. Greek and Romans were known to design and beautify interior using Mosaic floors, vases, and painting walls.

Popular interior design styles you need to know

When looking for interior designs for your house or your client you need to know is interior design ideas differ from one another.

Modern – These are common own trends that have gone for several decades without change. Fewer accessories are involved which make it simple in terms of furniture. It can be described as sleek.

Contemporary – It’s fluid and does not adhere to one particular style.

Minimalism – This is a design mostly for spacious rooms characterized by laconism and austerity in decoration.

Industrial – It is an urban that an aesthetic design that developed from old industrial spaces and factories that in recent years has been converted to living rooms

Other interesting styles include traditional, transitional interior design, rustic style, French Country, Shabby Chic, Coastal, Scandinavian interior design, Hollywood Regency, Bohemian, Eclectic style, Art Deco design, Asian Zen and Feng Shui.

Challenges facing Interior Design

The interior design market is competitive and challenging.

1. It’s difficult to sell your idea because at times you only have samples and pictures.

2. Time management is not easy since there are many things need to be done

3. Cost management is not easy because quality materials are expensive.

4. Finding the right employees who have work ethics, passion, skills, and core values.

5. Low Leadership skills leading to poor versatility and integration of interior designers.

How does AI solve the above challenges and improve the interior design?

Artificial Intelligence is certainly playing a major role in designing and decorating our homes but we never notice or care about it much.

Have you ever heard of an interior design tool called Planner 5D.  It is Just a  ‘Home Design Made Easy’ mobile app that you can achieve your house design with just three steps. The inculcation of Artificial Intelligence in the field of interior decoration has made everyone an interior designer which was impossible in the past. You only follow the main three components ‘Layout and Design’, ‘Furnish and Edit’ and ‘Visualize and Share’. The application simulates the role of an interior designer and helps the user be an interior designer.

Interior Design is characterized by more creative processes than technical but AI is making it grow like other industries.

There is much caution to dive in technology but different tools like are proving its possible and positive.

Take a look at these interior design tools which apply AI.

Canva – It has a hundred images, layouts, fonts and shapes which you don’t need the experience to use.

I want Hue – Hue uses a scientific approach to search out chromatic color combos. You no longer got to pay hours mixture and matching to ascertain what works along for your interior design.

Fohlio – It is custom-built for interior designers and designers. you’ll use the good browser extension to feature merchandise specification, pictures and documents from any webpage super quickly, and organize them in a very lovely table or mood board layout mechanically.

In conclusion, As interior designers and clients experience how the utilization of AI-controlled arrangements encourages their activities without trading off quality or the abundance of human learning and experience, we should begin to see a considerably more prominent move towards incorporating these kinds of innovation into ordinary use.

Technology and Artificial Intelligence In Architecture

Written by:

Architecture is embracing a collection of previous construction data to come up with the rapid transformation of iconic structures. Many cities in the world have these attractive stable buildings. Dubai has the 3D designed Jumeirah Emirates Towers. To come up with such stand out structures such as The Museum of The Future in Dubai, you need to high tech computer software which to design them. Computer algorithms were applied to get the model geometric results of the unrealistic structure.

By implementing algorithms to identify and generate a series of different output results of the building reliable shape.
The core issue of replacing of studying previous data to help create complicated designs works wonders. It helps save time in constructing structures that could take ages to design and make the unrealistic structure real in a short period.

Building And Designing With BIM
Creating 3D Models you need Building Information Modeling (BIM) which simplifies the entire project lifecycle of planning, designing, building, operating and maintaining the structure.
According to the United Nations, by 2050 the world’s population will be 10 billion. How will this population afford housing? Architecture and Engineers are facing a major shift in utilizing the available data through advanced technologies to solve this problem.
The BIM system utilizes all data collected to develop all the stages of construction. Purdue University has conducted interesting research to help create new smart cities of the future. The researchers of the university came up with a new method that describes the data used to develop BIM. They named the method Industry Foundation Classes (IFC).
“It normally requires a large amount of effort when manually interpreting IFC data due to its large number of entities and the complex connections between one entity and another. “Our technology helps BIM software developers create IFC-based solutions for any task in the life cycle of an AEC project.” Purdue’s Polytechnic Institute assistant professor explained.
The IFC data boosted the development of the BIM system. “We created a visualization algorithm and implemented it based on the new method we developed. The new method can help eliminate missing or inconsistent information during software development.” He added. The team is working on licensing it and any partner interested in licensing it is welcome.

City layout Design

AI’s ability to use previous data to make a decision is helping architects to pull all zoning data, building codes, and disabled design data, and generate design model variations that give out complex designs.
There is no doubt over the years technology and automation will continue shaping and improving project delivery, evaluation, performance, and billings. Unfortunately, not all architects who are incorporating artificial intelligence into practice, this may make them get left behind. The entire industry is changing and they need to find a way to get ahead of the revolution before they get flattened by it.
The engineering and construction industry is worth trillions of dollars every year. The customers are increasingly sophisticated and this explains why the industry needs to game up and be digitized. AI’s proliferation in the immediate future of the construction industry will be modest.
The paradigm shift is real, Stakeholders in the construction lifecycle among contractors, operators, service providers can no longer afford to conceive of Artificial intelligence as the technology that’s pertinent only to other industries.

The current state of Artificial intelligence in the Architecture industry.

AI uses cases in the construction industry, is just coming into existence and beginning to display signs of future potential.
It’s easier to come up with a million alternatives for project continuity and delivery, which will enhance overall project management and planning.

With classification and recognization of images, its easier to asses data gathered in construction sites to observe work behavior and identify unsafe scenarios and aggregate this data for future reference and education priorities.

High tech sensors platforms can analyze and collect data to understand arising failures and signals to deploy real-time solutions.
